Thickened saliva

I have recently had a feeling that my saliva is thick and difficult to swallow and needing to clear my throat often.
Is this related to PD - medication or something completely different?
Thanks in advance for any information.

Hi PatLea, I’ve checked with our specialist team and it is recommended you see a Speech Pathologist for thickened saliva and swallowing changes. These can be associated with Parkinson’s. Let us know how you go

Hi Lea
I have Parkinson’s and have the same problem. I am going to see a Speech Pathologist about it.
Sometimes it feels as though the saliva won’t go down and swallowing at times is more difficult. All the best. I hope you get some relief.
